In 1972 I started my apprenticeship at the RB Wilson commercial dental Lab.

After obtaining my City and Guilds Final qualification in 1976 I moved to the Glasgow Dental Hospital and spent two years in the prosthodontics lab, a position at Canniesburn Hospital became available for which I successfully applied and my career in maxillofacial prosthetics and technology began. I have now been involved with Maxillofacial Prosthetics and technology for the best part of 30 years.

As service manager I am in the fortunate position of having 8 staff who take care of the day to day running of the lab which allows me to pursue my personal area of interest in the correction of craniofacial deformity. I have a specific interest in the planning of the surgery and treatment methods with particular reference to distraction osteogenesis and its applications.

My spare time interests are drag racing and hot rod design and building.
